When In China, You Shouldn’t Miss These Places

ChinaBeing one of the largest countries in the world, China is a destination you should not miss when traveling. With its vast area, China has diverse cities that would bring out the explorer in you.

The country is the perfect choice if you want to slow travel, but it’s a great option if you want to spend, say, 48 hours in Shanghai or Hong Kong as well. But where should you go if ever you find yourself in China?

Here are some destinations you may want to include in your itinerary:

China is almost always synonymous to pandas. Visit those cute, furry creatures in select Chinese cities, such as Chengdu, popular for being home to 80% of the world’s giant pandas. But that’s not all you can do there. Drinking tea and playing mahjong are apparently everyone’s favorite activities in the area, so why not try mingling with the locals through their pastime?

When visiting a country, you don’t want to miss out on its capital. In China’s case, it’s the diverse city of Beijing. At one corner, you may be seeing modern architecture, but walk some more, then you’ll see the city’s centuries-old temples. If you’re in the area, don’t forget to visit the Forbidden City, which has history written all over it.

If you really want to wake your sense of wonder, you should include the province of Yunnan in your schedule. The destination has a lot of interesting locations that are worth visiting such as the Three Pagodas, Yuanyang Rice Terraces, and Swallow’s Cavern. It’s practically a nature and culture junkie’s dreamland.

For your trip to be as peaceful and serene as ever, you may want to check out the autonomous region of Tibet. The destination is the jump-off point to the world’s highest mountain, Mt. Everest, as well as a number of religious places such as the Jokhang Temple. Consider going to Tibet if you’re into a different kind of adventure.

China has a lot more to offer beyond these suggestions. The trick is to research where you want to go if you will be heading to the country. Better yet, contact a travel agency to help you out with your trip.
